Personality: Gentle, sensitive, dog-friendly, and super loyal My Story I might look big and strong in my picture, but the truth is, I’m a sensitive guy with a big heart. When my rescue friends first saved me from the shelter, I was so terrified of everything around me that I would immediately "pancake" flat to the ground. I just wanted to hide! But thanks to a lot of love, safety, and patience, I am learning that the world isn't so scary after all. Look at me now—I can finally stand up tall and show off my big Rottie smile! Because of my tough start, I’m going to need a patient home where I can have plenty of time to decompress and get comfortable. New places and new people still make me a little nervous at first, so I just need someone who will let me take things at my own pace. What I’m Looking For A Canine Pal: I’m dog-friendly! Having another dog around actually helps me feel brave and gives me an extra boost of confidence. A Patient Heart: Once I know I’m safe with you, my gentle, sweet nature comes right out. Overview:
The Rottweiler is a powerful and intelligent breed, originating in Germany where they were primarily used to drive cattle and guard property. Physically, they are robust dogs, instantly recognizable by their medium-large size, strong build, and striking black coat with distinct tan markings, particularly on the muzzle, chest, and legs. Their temperament, when properly socialized and trained, is one of unwavering loyalty and confidence; they are known for being calm and courageous, making them excellent guardians. While generally good with children within their own family, their protective instincts mean they require supervision with strangers. Due to their size and need for regular exercise and mental stimulation, Rottweilers are generally not ideal for apartment living and thrive in homes with secure yards. Health-wise, they can be predisposed to conditions such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as certain heart conditions, necessitating responsible breeding practices and regular veterinary check-ups.
