Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Hey there, I’m James! I’m a 1-year-old, 48-pound Terrier mix with a fun-loving spirit and a heart full of gold. If you’re looking for a dog who is as ready for a weekend getaway as he is for a cozy afternoon at home, I’m your guy! I am super friendly with both people and other dogs! I actually made the trip here with my buddy June, so I’m very comfortable around canine pals. I’m already house-trained, great in the car, and big-time treat-driven—which means we’re going to have a blast working on new tricks together! I’m looking for a home with older kids or adults. Little ones just aren’t really my thing, but I do well with older, dog-savvy children who understand how to respect my space. I’m neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all my vaccinations. Whether we’re cruising around town with the windows down or hanging out in the yard, I’m just excited to be by your side. Let's hit the road together!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
