DAPHNE - PUG (SHORT COAT) DOG FOR ADOPTION

Description

Dog Breed: Pug (short coat). Daphne is the sweetest petite apricot colored 2yr little lady ever. She has the biggest brown eyes for her little 15 pound body, and she uses them to get her way...a lot. Don't let her size fool you, inside that tiny package is the heart of a guard dog. She wants to let you know when she feels anyone is in danger. She has never had boundaries in her short life so we have been working on them to make not only her forever family happy but especially her so she knows not everything has to feel like a threat. When we are on a walk and if she starts to bark at someone or something we say, " thank you for telling me Daphne" and the next time we say " leave it" so she learns she doesn't need to be concerned with it but that her help was appreciated. The barking has gotten so much better, she only does it once or twice and then moves on with our walk. She doesn't like the top of her head kissed and that's just fine because she is a pug through and through and loves to sit right on your lap and feel like the princess she is. Daphne loves her brother Niles but sometimes their puppy play can get too emotional and each will need a little time out like brothers and sisters can. Daphne came from a home where there was a fenced in back yard and for that reason we are still still working on potty training. She will poo and pee on the pee pads that are left out for her. The vet says it is something that can happen with stress and transition. She pees on our walks so is getting better! She also does not love a crate, she will do it but doesn't love it. When I leave, the doors are shut on the rooms they don't need to be in, Niles has his belly belt on and Daphne has her pee pads left out and all is well. I have only had Niles and Daphne for a short time, but they are amazing, loving, learning babies. They both LOVE their human with all their heart and each other (most of the time) Niles & Daphne do not do well with cats. Niles & Daphne can be adopted together or individually.
