Description
Dog Breed: West Highland White Terrier Westie. Please read the bio of the rescue you are interested in to insure you are a match if you are a match the first step is to complete the online adoption application Aleigha is a sweet little Westie that came to us as a retired breeder. She's a little shy at first but warms up quickly. After living a life in a kennel she has a lot to lea4n. Thus far she has been started on leash and has learned to navigate a doggy door. She will need more work on her house training. She has a very playful and sweet personality. Gets along great with other dogs anf enjoys group playtime. Having another dog in the home would be idea. Older kids would work for her. She is now spayed, updated on rabies and distemper vaccines, tested negative for heartworm and now current on preventatives. She is also microchipped. Been groomed twice. She does have staining on her tha5 is slowly being trimmed out. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
