Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Sasha is a 2 year old Terrier mix weighing in at 27.4 pounds. She was a stray and was picked up by animal control. She had been there for 18 days and they were running out of options so we scooped her up in hopes to find her a good home. Sasha is a very sweet girl with a big heart. She loves other dogs and humans and just wants to please everyone. She is 2 years old and didn't know what a leash was so she is going to need a little work with a harness and leash. One of the volunteers at the shelter took her out to the creek and she did so wonderful with her and her little girl. If you would like to meet Sasha please fill out an application from our website.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
