Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? .muttloverescue/foster.html ***************** Tinsel aka Tin is the happiest of girls, you will find no one happier out there. She will greet you at the door with a toy and wiggly joy. She is an enthusiastic eater. Her favorites include sticks, leaves and insects. A little sweet and and a little spice type of girl. She is very interested in her favorite person's food too, it is wise not to let your plate out of your sight. Counter surfing was her sport early on, but as she has been maturing into a young lady she has gained some self control. Tin is an independent lady when she has to be but mostly enjoys being with her person. If you are outside that is where she wants to be. Tin is kennel trained and sleeps through the night. She walks well on a leash but does like to stop and take in the scenery on occasion. There is so much to see and do during her walks. She loves other dogs and would do great with an active furry companion and a fenced yard. Doggie play groups would be so much fun for Tin. She loves every person she meets, she just may need a minute if she is on a leash. She will bark to let everyone know the extra human is there. Tinsel is one of those beautiful teenage kids looking for her forever family after a rough start. Tinsel is 9 months old and weighs about 40 lbs. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
