Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Husky / Mixed (medium coat). Durham was found in March of 2026. He was in a deep ditch with three broken legs. He was helped by the Jackson Fire Department to get out and taken for emergency care. ARF stepped up to take on his care. He is all puppy and while two of his legs recovered, he had to have one amputated. He was the 8 week old puppy that was found in a 15 foot ditch with 3 broken legs. He had been hit by a car a couple of weeks earlier and it broke one leg. Then about 2 weeks later he was hit again and had 2 more legs broken and was tossed into the ditch by the collision. We don't know how long he lay there but someone heard him crying and posted it on a rescue page. He was rescued and brought to the vet where it was discovered that the legs were broken. One so badly it would need amputation. But before any surgeries could be done, he had to fight off the infection in his tiny body. This was in March. Since then, he has had 2 separate surgeries to repair his front and back legs. Then he was finally strong enough for the amputation of his front leg. The damage was much too extensive to repair. Once he was discharged from the vet Durham went to a wonderful foster family. But it is time for him to have a home of his own. Durham is a wonderful pup. He loves other dogs and is fine with cats. He takes a minute to get comfortable with new people, but once he knows you, he is a very loving baby. If you think he would be the ideal dog for you please fill out an application.
