Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Balto! Balto is the best pup out there. He is just wonderful. At only 10 months old, he has a wonderful temperament. He is social, friendly, affectionate, playful, great with other dogs and all people. How could you not love him? Balto is a smart boy and very trainable. He learns eagerly and is so much fun to work with. He has a lot of potential. Balto's only challenge is that he has some confinement anxiety. He does not like being crated. We are working on this with him because being able to be crated when home alone is an important skill and he is too young to safely be left outside of a crate. He will need continued work on this. He is so worth it though. Dogs with temperaments this wonderful don't come along too often. Balto will be neutered, vaccinated and chipped. His adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
