Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Pepin! Pepin is an adorable 8-week-old Heeler mix, and we’ve only had him for two days, but he is already doing SO good! He’s sleeping like a champ in his kennel, loves going for walks (although they have to be short because those little legs get tired ), and he LOVES his toys. Most of all, he loves hanging out with Felix! He’s such a sweet, happy little guy, and I think he is going to make an absolutely wonderful family dog. And seriously… look at that face! He is just so little and cute! Pepin will be available for adoption in a couple of weeks. Stay tuned for more updates on this little guy! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $625.00

In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds.
