Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 450. Meet Taylor! Taylor is a smart, joyful, and affectionate Terrier puppy born December 14, 2025. She may be a mix with a Great Pyrenees—and she’s 100% lovable! She has a big personality, a playful spirit, and plenty of love to share. Taylor adores people, kids, and other dogs, and her happy, social nature makes her a wonderful companion. Taylor is an eager learner who loves having a job to do. She already knows commands like sit and down and is learning to wait patiently for her “OK” before enjoying her meals. She thrives with a routine and will even let you know when she thinks it’s time to get back on schedule with her adorable little “talking.” Taylor is pretty much potty trained and just needs occasional reminders to head outside. As a growing puppy, she is active and curious and will do best with a family ready to provide plenty of exercise, enrichment, chew toys, training, and opportunities to explore. Of course, Taylor’s personality isn’t the only thing that makes her special. Her beautiful marbled eye gives her an extra-unique look, making this already gorgeous girl truly one of a kind. Taylor has mild microphthalmia, a congenital condition that affects the development of one eye. Thankfully, she doesn’t need any treatment, and it doesn’t stop her from being the happy, playful girl she is. Taylor is playful, intelligent, loving, and ready to find a family who will keep her busy, continue her training, and make her part of all life’s adventures If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: .starfishanimalrescue/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
