At approximately 3 years old, she's the perfect blend of playful energy and affectionate cuddles. Coco's story began with heartbreak. After her beloved owner suddenly passed away, she was surrendered to a high-kill shelter by family members who didn't keep her. Through no fault of her own, Coco found herself scared, confused, and in danger of losing everything she had ever known. Thankfully, American Boston Terrier Rescue & Rehabilitation stepped in to give her a second chance. Since coming into rescue, Coco has been spayed and has absolutely flourished in her foster home near Austin, Texas. With love, stability, and a safe place to land, her true personality has emerged, and what a wonderful girl she is! Coco adores people and gets along great with other dogs. She's happiest when she's chasing a ball, working on a favorite Nylabone, or snuggling up next to her humans for some quality cuddle time. Whether you're looking for a walking buddy, a playmate, or a couch companion, Coco is happy to fill the role. Overview:
The Boston Terrier, affectionately known as the "American Gentleman," originated in the late 19th century in Boston, Massachusetts, making it one of the few breeds developed in the U.S. Physically, they are compact and muscular, typically weighing between 12 and 25 pounds, with a distinctive "tuxedo" coat pattern—black or brindle with white markings on the muzzle, chest, and often a blaze between the eyes. Their expressive, round eyes and erect, bat-like ears are hallmark features. Temperamentally, Boston Terriers are friendly, intelligent, and lively, known for their charming personalities and unwavering loyalty. They adapt well to various living situations, making them excellent companions for both families with children and individuals in apartments, as long as they receive adequate exercise and mental stimulation. Regarding health, they are a brachycephalic (short-nosed) breed, so care must be taken in hot weather to prevent overheating, and they can be prone to eye conditions and patellar luxation.
