Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Meet Evie! This resilient pup was originally from Louisiana, where she was found as a stray and spent a couple months in a shelter. She is now settling in well in her foster home in Seattle - she loves toys, snacks, and being near her people. She is a smart cookie and already has the hang of potty training (she has learned a few tricks, too!) She is crate trained and happy to spend a few hours at a time in her kennel. Evie is friendly with people and other dogs with a proper introduction. She is a shepherd mix pup with a good amount of energy and drive - she would love to join you on all of your adventures! She is still young and will need someone to help her grow into a happy healthy and confident adult dog. An adopter with shepherd (or other working dog) experience/knowledge would likely be a great fit for Evie girl. Evie is microchipped and has received her full puppy vaccine series. She will be spayed between 8-12 months (at our cost) as part of her adoption agreement. Her adoption fee is $525. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
