Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Meet Evie! This resilient pup was originally from Louisiana, where she was found as a stray along with her sister Roo. She is now settling in well in her foster home in Seattle. Our unofficial DNA test has confirmed that she is 50% shepherd, 25% bat and 25% kangaroo. Evie is a goofy and sweet girl, but she is also very smart and catches onto things quickly - a highly trainable pup. She surprises us every day with how quickly she catches onto things. She is potty trained and crate trained, and happy to spend a few hours at a time in her kennel. Evie is an absolute sweetheart, loves people and kids, and gets along with other playful dogs with a proper introduction. Evie loves car rides and is an excellent copilot! She is a shepherd mix pup with a good amount of energy and drive - she would love to join you on all of your adventures! We could see her being great at agility or other dog sports. She is still young and learning, so will need someone to help her continue to grow into a happy healthy and confident adult dog. Evie's future family will be so lucky to have this amazing girl! Evie is microchipped and has received her full puppy vaccine series. She will be spayed between 8-12 months (at our cost) as part of her adoption agreement. Her adoption fee is $525. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
