Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 450. Are you looking for a small-sized buddy with a BIG heart? Meet the adorable Sassy! Sassy is an 11.8-pound Terrier mix who is approximately two years old. This sweet little girl may be a bit shy and jittery when she first meets you, so she’ll need some time, patience, and understanding to feel comfortable. But once Sassy comes out of her shell, get ready for a whole lot of love! She will dote on you, adore you, and happily become your little shadow. Sassy is affectionate, sweet, and has a seriously fun bonus—she LOVES to play ball! You throw it, she’ll bring it right back, and when you ask her to drop it, she does! Talk about a perfect little fetch partner. When she’s not busy playing, Sassy is more than happy to snuggle with you. A home with previous experience with small or shy dogs would be ideal. Sassy will truly blossom with someone who understands that new people and unfamiliar situations can be a little scary at first. Give her the time she needs, and you’ll be rewarded with a devoted companion who loves being by your side. Sassy gets along well with both dogs and cats, and she could happily be your one-and-only or have furry siblings to keep her company. She enjoys a little activity—especially a good game of fetch—but she also appreciates a peaceful home where she can relax, follow her favorite person around, and keep an eye on the world from the window. Think Sassy could be your perfect match? Don’t wait too long to reach out! This sweet girl is ready to find the loving home where she can finally blossom. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
