Description
Dog Breed: Schnauzer / Mixed. Cannoli is freshly groomed and looking for her furever home. She is a 1.5 year old Schnauzer Mix. Cannoli is still learning to be a dog, and that people can be good. She is very wary being approached by people and needs a lot of time to get acclimated to someone to permit touching. She will need another dog in the home to keep up her progress. She is high energy and will need someone who understands that. She is paper trained in house and walks nicely on leash, and will potty outside with regular scheduling. A fenced in yard will be required so she can chase birds to her hearts delight. Cannoli is not a city dog. Cannoli is a sweet girl and has shown no aggression, she just needs a lot more confidence and someone who has patience. She will bond to her new person as she has done with the patience of her foster. Cannoli is spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccines. If you would like to meet Cannoli, please go to petresqinc to complete an adoption application. Any other questions will be answered once we have an application.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
