Dog Breed: Terrier / Poodle (unknown type) / Mixed. Meet Ruben Humphrey! Ruben Humphrey is an almost 7-year-old Poodle/Terrier mix weighing just 14 pounds. With his soft white coat, curly tail, and joyful personality, this little guy is ready to find the person he's been waiting for. Ruben is incredibly affectionate once he trusts you. He lights up when he sees his favorite people, loves to cuddle, and happily follows his person from room to room. He's a smart, curious dog who enjoys puzzle toys, sniffing adventures, and daily walks. His happy little zig-zag trot makes every outing an adventure! Since joining his foster family after arriving as a stray, Ruben has become a totally different dog. He started out as fearful and reactive and now he's a happy and curious dog. He successfully completed a professional training program and has worked hard on building confidence, learning good manners, and overcoming resource guarding. He thrives with consistent routines, clear boundaries, and positive reinforcement. Ruben is looking for an experienced, patient adopter who understands that trust takes time and dogs thrive with structure. He can be nervous in new situations and has a bite history with both people and dogs when he becomes overwhelmed. His adopter should be committed to continuing his training and helping him navigate the world with confidence. Ruben loves his people so much that he can exhibit separation anxiety. Crating, lots of physical and mental exercise each day make a world of difference for him. He will never turn down a walk, in fact, he's positive that the more walks, the better! Once he settles in, Ruben is a loving, loyal companion who forms deep bonds with his people. He enjoys playing with his foster dog siblings after patient and structured introductions he would do well with a calm, confident canine companion. He would do best in a home with adults. He has not been formally tested with cats. If you're looking for a devoted little companion and are excited to continue helping a deserving dog thrive, Ruben Humphrey may be your perfect match. CAWS does not place animals on a first-come, first-served basis. We focus on finding the best fit for each dog and family. Ruben's adoption fee is $200. Applications may take up to 72 hours to process. All CAWS dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
