Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Griffey! Griffey is an 18 month old Terrier mix. He is 31 lbs. He’s quite friendly with people and dogs and is a quick learner. He is energetic and occasionally can be a bit rambunctious, but also loves just chillin' with his peeps. He would do well with a family (preferably not really young kids) and his dream situation would include a fenced yard and another dog to play chase with. An active couple who likes to hike, etc. could also be a good fit. Griffey can be mouthy when he is very excited and is not a good match for your children for this reason. He is learning to be ok with car rides. He will do best in a home with someone who is willing to continue training with him and providing him with lots of activity and mental stimulation. Griffey is vaccinated, neutered and chipped. His adoption fee is $450. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
