Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 200. Rainy has been with us for two years.... She is a GREAT dog! She is very smart and eager to please and she LOVES her people. She's a happy dog who lives for playing fetch. She will chase a ball and bring it back a million times. She knows several commands and even did 2 weeks of board and train at All Dogs Unleashed. She enjoys car rides, riding the side by side, and running through trails and mud holes. She will definitely do best with someone who will exercise her and spend time with her outside. I think she would make a great hiking partner. She is approximately 3 5 years old but still has a baby/puppy face and she's on the smaller side. She is short and only weighs about 35 pounds. She is good with most other dogs as long as they are good with her. She doesn't look for trouble but I do think she would react if a dog initiated it. She would do best with a active playful male dog or as a only dog. She is fully vetted- spayed/microchipped/ current on prevention/UTD on vaccines. She is currently in a foster home here in Shreveport, LA but we adopt often to the northeast so transport can easily be arranged.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
