Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (medium coat). My legs may not work, but please don’t mistake that for a life not worth living. Someone shot me, and the bullet left me paralyzed. I crawl when I need to, and when you put me in my wheelchair? I get to GO. I still love. I still play. I still light up when someone gives me attention. And if you look into my eyes, you’ll see just how much life is still in me. I do have special needs, daily medication, and ongoing medical care. What I need most is something the shelter simply can’t give me enough of — a home, one-on-one attention, and someone who sees me instead of my wheelchair. I survived the worst of someone. Now I’m waiting to experience the best of someone. My name is Genesis. Please give me that chance.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
