HAPPY, PLAYFUL & SWEET: Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 32 lbs. Hi, I’m McGruff! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I am so happy to be soaking up all the love from the volunteers. I spent some time in a temporary home and now I'm ready to find a wonderful home of my own with a family to love and be loved by! Perhaps you? • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best kids old enough to understand that I only let my trusted people pick me up. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a friendly, happy, playful boy who is full of fun and super sweet, too! I’m an active guy who loves attention and is always ready to brighten your day. I am an absolute angel for my baths, politely lifting each paw for rinsing, then celebrating with joyful zoomies around the Paw Spa before rolling all over my towel—I'm pretty adorable, if I do say so myself! It takes me a little time and trust to want to be picked up so let's stick with the "four on the floor" scritches until we get to know each other a bit better. I’m also a curious guy who likes to investigate everything around me—I may occasionally try to pick up things I shouldn’t, like a piece of trash or shoes, or do a little counter surfing. The good news is I respond well to “no” or “leave it” because I really do want to please—I’m just curious about the world around me! With my unique coloring, I’m every bit as handsome as I am lovable. / Energy level: 5-7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, 'place' and ‘leave it’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and accept friendly strangers without jumping. In my temp. home, I walked pretty well on my leash until I saw a squirrel or a goose—lol. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts as well as my temp. home after just a few minutes of barking—I also enjoyed a little background white noise when they were gone, and I like my crate where I can see my people in the home. / I’ve only had a few accidents on the shelter schedule. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love playing with toys and balls, although I’m still figuring out this whole game of fetch—maybe you can teach me! I also love spending time with the nice volunteers and am a huge cuddle bug who loves attention and being close to my people. After a nice long walk, I’m happiest cozying up on the couch for lots of scratches and belly rubs. In the evenings, I enjoy some extra cuddles and attention before curling up for a good night’s sleep. / Until I know and trust you, I don't like to be picked up and like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m a wonderful dog looking for a wonderful family to do life with! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
