Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua. This gorgeous, eight-year-old long-haired Chihuahua mix is ready to fill your home with absolute joy. With her incredibly fluffy ears and matching plume of a tail, Louie looks like a little fox and turns heads wherever she goes. Louie is a sensitive soul who takes a moment to warm up. While she is shy with new people at first, her trust is incredibly rewarding—once she is comfortable with you, she transforms into the ultimate snuggle bug who loves nothing more than curling up close. Every single day with Louie starts with the sweetest round of good morning kisses, followed immediately by her rolling right over onto her back to demand her favorite thing in the world: belly rubs! She is currently doing fantastic in her foster home, where she lives harmoniously with both big and small dogs. She also gets along wonderfully with older children who understand her initial shyness. While she loves her quiet cuddle time, she also has a wonderful bounce in her step. She gets super happy whenever it is time to go for a walk and is an absolute dream on a leash, making outdoor strolls together completely effortless and fun. If you are looking for a gentle, loyal companion to brighten your life, Louie is ready to meet you! Overview:
The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
