Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (T-Cup). Choco deserves a second chance. This sweet 12-pound ball of fluff spent most of his life alone in a backyard, missing out on the love and companionship every dog deserves. Now, Choco has a fresh start and the opportunity to find a family who will cherish him. Choco is fully vetted and ready for his next chapter. Choco can be a little shy at first, but once he feels safe, he attaches himself quickly to his person. He’s looking for someone who will give him a little patience and let him build trust at his own pace. A quiet, calm home would be best for Choco, as meeting new people isn’t exactly his favorite thing. Once you’re his person, though, you’ll have a loyal little companion who just wants to be by your side. Can you open your heart and give Choco the love he's been waiting for? Please share to help him find the happy ending he deserves. Please note we do not usually adopt outside of San Diego County and surrounding areas.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
