Description
Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). To adopt or for more information, please visit TaysiaBlue Rejoice! Hermes, Greek Messenger to the Dogs is here! I didn't even have to use my amazing winged dog sandals - I arrived in Colorado on an airplane that brought me to rescue! I have plenty of energy and I love to play. I act my age (two) and may even be a little younger. I like to stay busy and I'm pretty good at entertaining myself. Everything goes in my mouth, but I haven't destoyed anything except maybe blanket fringe. (Blanket fringe is a threat to my existence and I must attempt to destroy.) I am excellent in the crate overnight and when the humans leave the house. Getting sprayed with water while counter surfing is a fantastic game! I'm very good at meeting other dogs while on leash. I quickly hit it off with the other dogs in my foster home, from the king of the castle to the little puppy. I'm learning that I don't need to resource guard random things. It helps when the other dogs ignore me because that makes it no fun at all. I'm a 65 pound lap husky who will accept all the attention you can give me! I'm the dog who will be by right there by your side no matter what you're doing. I'm happy to join in work video calls by climbing into your lap if I'm not getting enough attention. I helped my foster mom put together a shelf by hanging my head over her shoulder and forcing myself into her lap. After a snuggle I just slept curled up next to her. I can help you pick up kids at school. You will need to book some extra time because I will attract a crowd! I recently attended a long outdoor event where I was petted and/or hugged by approximately 476 people and loved every minute of it. I became BFFs with a toddler who wouldn't leave my side and was so well behaved that someone thought I was a service dog. One guy came back to find me afterwards to get "just one more lean" from me. If adding a playful bundle of love to your home is on your to-do list, fill out an application and mention Hermes! To adopt or for more information, please visit TaysiaBlue

Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
