Description
Dog Breed: Pomeranian / Chihuahua / Mixed (medium coat). Benjamin was born around September 1, 2025 and weighs about 12 pounds. He is a cutie and will be even cuter once his fur grows back out. It seems he was shaved due to mating and fleas - all gone now. It's possible the nippy behavior we were told about was due to his uncomfortable body condition but maybe he's just one of those spicey Chihuahuas that the right household understands and loves. Because of this, no little kids in his next life, please. He is being wonderful with the other dogs here both large and small and we are told he is good with cats. Benjamin is good on leash and enjoys traveling in a car. We were also told that he is good about hanging around his humans when off leash and that makes sense because these little ones sure do become devoted once they love you! Once you become his bestie he is a major snuggler. Benny was not neutered when he came to us thus, he was struggling on some marking behavior. He is now neutered and we are working with him as likely you will need to also once he moves again. We do like to always mention with these little ones that floor potty pads often make life so much easier to us and them. Ben is absolutely adorable, very inquisitive, and those eyes show how intelligent he is - someone out there is going to LOVE this little boy! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $400.00. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY. Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. More About Chiranian BreedOverview:
The Chiranian, also affectionately known as a "Pomchi," is a charming hybrid breed resulting from the cross between a Chihuahua and a Pomeranian. Originating from designer breed efforts to combine the desirable traits of both parents, this small companion dog typically inherits a compact size, usually weighing between 4-10 pounds. Their physical appearance can vary, often featuring the long, soft coat of a Pomeranian in various colors, coupled with the alert, expressive eyes of a Chihuahua. Temperamentally, Chiranians are generally affectionate, lively, and intelligent, though they can exhibit a "big dog" personality in a small package, sometimes prone to being vocal. They are highly adaptable, making them an excellent choice for apartment living and can be suitable for families with older, respectful children. Health-wise, like many small breeds, they can be prone to dental issues, luxating patellas, and tracheal collapse, making regular veterinary check-ups essential for a long, happy life.
