Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Bo Peep from the Toy Story Litter! Bo Peep, also known as Breeze, is an 18 week old sweet, playful, high-energy 16-pound girl with a huge personality and an even bigger love for belly rubs. When she wants attention, she’ll walk right up to you with her ears tucked back, sit patiently, and the moment you reach down to pet her, she’ll roll onto her back and happily accept belly rubs for as long as you’re willing to give them! She loves to play and is great at entertaining herself with toys, but she also loves interactive play with her people and another dog. Bo Peep has lots of puppy energy, so she would do best with an active household, likely one with another dog, that can give her plenty of playtime, exercise, enrichment, and attention. She currently lives with children. Bo Peep is doing very well with her training. She already knows “sit” and “down,” is crate trained, and sleeps comfortably in her crate through the night. Her potty training is also coming along nicely. She does most of her business outside and understands that outside is where she is supposed to go, although she can still have an occasional accident if she isn’t taken out on time. She has minimal experience with the leash and will definitely need work with that. These days, Bo Peep spends most of her time outside of a playpen. She’s actually quite talented at figuring out how to escape one, so a puppy-proofed area is definitely recommended! She’s still learning to stay by your side, so a 4-foot fence would be best for the little wanderer. Like many curious puppies, Bo Peep explores the world with her mouth. She loves picking things up and may try to swallow things she shouldn’t, so her new family will need to keep an eye on her and keep tempting objects out of reach. When she gets really excited during play, she can also become a little mouthy, but she has been making good progress as she learns appropriate play manners. Bo Peep loves to chew, so durable toys are her favorite. Soft plush toys don’t tend to survive very long around her, and because she may try to eat pieces she tears off, the foster home sticks with strong plush toys, chew toys, and other durable puppy-safe options. Bo Peep would be a wonderful match for someone looking for an affectionate, energetic, goofy puppy who wants to be part of everything you’re doing.
