A change in his family’s lease means they are no longer able to keep him, and they are hoping to find him a loving home where he can continue being the wonderful companion they know and love. Born around December 2024, Robin is approximately 60 pounds and has a fantastic temperament. He has done well with dogs, cats, children, babies, strangers, and other animals, making him a great candidate for many different types of families. Robin is housebroken and crate trained and is comfortable spending time both inside the home and outside in the backyard. He is neutered, vaccinated, and has no known ongoing medical needs or history of biting. Robin’s family describes him as an amazing dog with a wonderful temperament. They would love nothing more than to see him safely settled into a home where he can be loved as part of the family. Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy.
