Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 500.00. Meet Kelsey — A Little Girl Who Has Been Through So Much Kelsey is a 2–4-year-old female weighing just 20 pounds, and she is very underweight. She was picked up by Animal Control on a rural road, and it appears she had been on her own for quite some time. Kelsey is skin and bones and has abrasions on her head and back. We can only imagine what she has been through or how she ended up in this condition. Despite everything, this sweet girl is still happy and friendly with the volunteers. She is weak and needs time to rest, recover, and gain some much-needed weight. Kelsey is receiving small meals several times a day, along with added nutritional gel, to help her slowly build her strength. The good news is that Kelsey is heartworm negative. Getting Kelsey into the shelter and securing a foster may have saved her life, but now she needs the next step — the medical care she needs, and allow her the time to heal. She has already fought so hard just to survive. Now she deserves the chance to recover and finally know what it feels like to be safe, loved, and cared for. She should be ready to travel by October.
