Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. Meet Polly Pocket, the one-year-old pocket pit bull with a heart as big as her personality! Don’t let her "low rider" status fool you—this sweet girl is packed full of affection and is an absolute expert at snuggling. Polly is a true "work hard, play hard" kind of girl. She loves tearing around with her foster siblings, but once the fun is done, she’s ready to crash for a nap, where you can listen to her adorable little snores. When she’s awake, she’s never far from her favorite people, happily following them from room to room just to stay close. She is already house-trained, a pro in the car, and is currently working on perfecting her leash manners. While she’s a huge fan of her toys, she’s an even bigger fan of her humans. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who is always ready with a kiss, Polly Pocket is the perfect match. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
