Name: Scooter Breed: Mystery Dark-Mode Special (Lab / Shepherd / Aussie Blend)
Energy Level: Ready to go on all the adventures, but happy to snuggle on the couch when his exercise needs are met!
Special Skills: Unsolicited Enthusiasm, Aggressive Wagging, Professional Hype Man, Star Pupil in Training Meet Scooter: The Over-enthusiastic CEO of Having a Good Time Looking for a dog who approaches every single mundane moment like it’s the grand finale of a New Year’s Eve fireworks show? Meet Scooter, a stunning 7-month-old, jet-black beauty with the body of a lab mix and the work ethic of a shepherd who decided his main job is partying.
Scooter doesn't walk into a room—he launches into it like a glitter cannon. He loves everyone. He loves everything. He believes with every fiber of his being that life is a non-stop fiesta and he has personally appointed himself as the Master of Ceremonies.
The Scooter Standard: Fun Coordinator (Factory Sealed): Scooter operates on 100% pure optimism. Naps are just a temporary system crash that only happen when he accidentally drains his internal battery mid-bounce.
The Ultimate Hype Man: Sad? Stressed? Scooter will lick and cuddle until you decide that today is the best day in human history.
Eager Learner & Star Pupil: He is remarkably smart, highly food-motivated, and deeply receptive to positive training. He loves working with his humans and is making huge strides every single day!
The "Let’s GO!" Mentality: Fetch? YES. Running? YES. Toys? ABSOLUTELY.
What Scooter Needs in a Home: A "Tour Manager": An adopter who understands an active, playful pup and finds joy in the reward of training a smart dog!
Roommates? Scooter has lived with 2 cats and done well. He would be completely happy as an only dog. He would also be happy living with another dog who is large, playful, goofy and not territorial. Smaller, non-playful dogs would not find him endearing.
Adults & Older kids (10+): Because Scooter can be quite jumpy when excited and this could be a lot for small kids. He has been learning that sit gets him what he wants!
The Setup: A fenced yard for zoomies (or regular leash walks), plenty of puzzle toys, and an active human.
Quick Stat Check:
Pros: Gorgeous shiny coat, unmatched charisma, extremely receptive to training, guarantee that you will never have a boring day again.
Cons: Might try to high-five you at 6:0 0 AM while you're trying to make coffee.
Scooter's Backstory: Scooter and his sister Maggie came from a rural property where the two puppies had been abandoned. Despite that rough start, both pups have shown nothing but confidence, resilience, and a natural trust in people. They were raised in an active rural foster home with 10 acres, adults, kids, and other well balanced dogs, giving them a strong foundation in social skills, lots of exercise, and daily routine. They have transitioned nicely to more urban/suburban living in Rhode Island.
An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
