Dog Breed: Border Collie / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). OTTO IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION OUTSIDE A 30 MINUTE RADIUS OF DES MOINES UNTIL AFTER OCTOBER 13 DUE TO HIS VETTING REQUIRMENT. Otto is a 10-week-old, male, possible Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix that weighs about 10 lbs. He will likely be a medium to large dog when full grown. Otto and his 6 siblings came from Oklahoma in mid-August. He is a sweet puppy that loves attention and loves to be held and snuggled. Otto loves toys and playing with his siblings. He has access to a kiddie pool, and enjoys the occasional dip on a hot day. He is a wonderful mix of sweet and energetic. Otto would do well as a single dog or with another dog. He has not met cats or kids, but with proper introductions and guidance, he should do well with all. Otto will need introduced to leash, kennel, and house training in his new home. While generally good-natured and loyal, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them best suited for active families or individuals who can provide consistent training and plenty of exercise; they are generally not ideal for apartment living.
