He’s the chonkiest lil guy with the squishiest cheeks, and once you’ve given him one gentle squeeze, you’re done for — he’s impossible not to adore. This handsome boy is working on building confidence, especially with things that feel confining or unfamiliar. He's still learning that the world is safe, but he's incredibly responsive to reassurance, and with time and trust, he settles beautifully. Bronx’s greetings are legendary: a big, slow stretch followed by the cutest happy spins when he knows it’s walk time. Out on his sniff‑walks, he’s all curiosity and joy — taking in the world, pausing for breaks, and enjoying the simple pleasure of being outside with his person. And when the adventure is over, he’s happiest snoozing at your feet, snoring softly as you work or relax. He can get a little overly excited in the moment, but he’s very easy to calm and eager to follow your lead. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
