Description
Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $300.00. Hi! I’m AJ, a handsome tricolor boy who wants to be your little buddy. I’m a sweet, friendly, playful four month old puppy who loves being wherever my people are—especially right beside my foster mom. I’m always ready to give out puppy kisses and make you smile! I’m a smart boy who is crate trained and potty trained, and I get along wonderfully with everyone I’ve met. I’m great with other dogs, kids, and cats, so I’d fit right into all kinds of families. I’m still growing and as a German Pinscher mix I will probably grow to around 40 pounds. When it’s time to have fun, just bring out a squeaky toy or challenge me to a game of tug-of-war. I’m happiest when I’m playing, learning, and spending time with the people I love. I also love playing with my sister, Kyndsi! I’m looking for a forever family who will love me, play with me, and let me be part of their everyday adventures. I have so much love to give, and I can’t wait to find my very own people! Could you be my forever family? Love, AJ Apply today at bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
