BRUNO* - German Shepherd Dog-Unknown Mix Male Dog For Adoption in Santa Cruz, California, USA

Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat).

Meet Bruno, the Shepherd mix puppy. Bruno arrived to the Shelter as a stray so we don’t know much about his life before now. He has been an exuberant guy with lots of energy – enjoying zooming around the exercise yards at the Shelter. Bruno has solicited play from other dogs but can be a little forward in his greeting – coming in really quickly and abruptly, which can be off-putting to some dogs. Any resident dogs should meet at the Shelter prior to adoption to ensure that they dogs are compatible. Bruno would not thrive at a dog park or dog beach at this time until he gains some dog-to-dog socialization skills. As a young teen, adopters should plan to bond with Bruno through positive reinforcement based training to help him grown into a good canine citizen. We do not have any history of Bruno in a home with children or felines. Bruno's adoption fee has been sponsored by Santa Cruz Animal Shelter Foundation's Leave No One Behind fund - a fund that draws adopter's eyes towards animals that have been waiting a little bit longer than average for the right adopters to come along and bring them home. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
