Dog Breed: Australian Kelpie / Mixed (medium coat). Stark Stark is a 2-year-old Australian Kelpie mix who weighs about 42 pounds and is the perfect size for an adventure buddy. His story is a tough one — he was abandoned in a drainage canal along with a litter of puppies. Despite his rough start, Stark is an incredibly sweet guy who is ready for someone to finally invest in him. He’s your typical Kelpie/Cattle Dog type: smart, energetic, athletic, and ready to go. Stark would be an awesome hiking, backpacking, camping, or van-life companion. He’s ready for anything and would love a person who wants a dog to actually do life with. Stark can be an intense greeter with other dogs, so slow, thoughtful introductions are important. He would do best in a home without small children. Stark needs some training and is still working on potty training, but he’s smart and we think he’ll catch on quickly. The biggest thing Stark has been missing is someone willing to put the time into him. No one has really given this guy the chance to learn what it means to be someone’s dog. Give Stark some structure, training, exercise, and a person who believes in him, and we think you’re going to have one fantastic companion. He’s sweet. He’s smart. He’s athletic.
