Dog Breed: Akita / Mixed (short coat). Don't forget!! We are currently open by appointment only. This is to control the traffic in the building at one time. If you would like to look at the cats/dogs for adoption, or if you need to relinquish or to do any other business, please message our FB page or call us at 304-267-8389 to schedule an appointment. If you see a specific pet for adoption on our FB page we can always set up a specific meet and greet for that as well. Rex has been with us for several months after spening several months at animal control.He is an Akita mix, he just turned a year old. He is still so young and rambunctious. Rex is a buck wild boy who needs some basic obedience training BUT he is a phenomenal boy. He is strong on leash but can be controlled with time and patience. He does do well with dogs but needs a home without cats. An ideal home would also not include small children. Rex needs a family that has the time, patience and dedication to train him. Also, a family that is home most of the time would really help him. Rex would also do much better with a fenced yard. We know with the right person or family, he has so much potential to shine. Rex has been neutered and vaccinated. Adoption fee... $175, cash or credit card. Mon.-Sat 10-4 We understand not everyone can adopt a pet. Some homes are full, some homes do not allow certain pets and some have lifestyles that can't handle a pet right now. You can still help. Sharing pictures on FB, volunteering, or just coming in and sponsoring part of the adoption fee for when the pet is adopted. This helps a lot. No amount is too small to donate towards the adoption fee. If you would like to help sponsor, speak to one of the staff. Especially the cats and kittens need help (since we usually have so many!)
