FOR DOGS, email trinitygapclubgmail MEET CRUNCHY — A LITTLE SURVIVOR Crunchy’s life had a very difficult beginning. When he was less than 2 months old, he was attacked by a much bigger dog. A Good Samaritan rushed him to the shelter, where veterinarians treated his injuries and performed multiple surgeries to save his life. But Crunchy is a fighter. ❤️‍ He healed, grew stronger, and showed everyone just how resilient he is. Sadly, despite everything he has overcome, Crunchy is still waiting at the shelter. Trinity Gap Rescue would love to get him OUT, but we need a committed FOSTER or ADOPTER to make that happen. Crunchy is 9 months old, 32 pounds, fully vetted, neutered and microchipped. He is dog friendly, potty trained and crate trained —and most importantly, he’s ready to finally experience what it means to have a home and a family of his own. ❤️ If you foster Crunchy, Trinity Gap Rescue will cover all of his expenses. He fought so hard for his life when he was just a tiny puppy. Now he needs someone to show him that his life was worth fighting for. Can you give Crunchy his second chance? Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
