Description
Dog Breed: Dachshund (short coat). REPORTED TO BE PATIENT WITH CATS! Chip and Flapjack are affable, entertaining fellows. Chip is the dad, age 4 and Flapjack is the son, age 2.5. The owner says they are good with kids, familiar dogs, and friendly to all people they've met so far. Flapjack needs time to warm up to new dogs. The take great walks together and are very kind and loving. They do get lonely when left alone so a work from home owner would be ideal. The Dachshund, affectionately known as the "wiener dog," is a fascinating breed originating in Germany, primarily bred to hunt badgers and other burrowing animals. Their most distinctive physical characteristic is their long, low-slung body and short, muscular legs, a feature perfectly adapted for tunneling. They come in three coat types – smooth, longhaired, and wirehaired – and various sizes, from miniature to standard. Temperamentally, Dachshunds are known for being courageous, curious, and often quite playful, with a surprising amount of energy.
