Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Birthdate: 12/31/2025 Breed: One of a kind Weight: 33 lbs Finn is a handsome boy with the kind of ears that deserve their own fan club. Big, expressive, and constantly doing their own thing, they somehow manage to capture every passing sound, thought, and bit of gossip. You can usually tell exactly what Finn is thinking just by watching his ears. He’s equal parts playful and grand — happy to tear around like a complete maniac one minute, then settle into a very serious, very dignified pose the next. Finn has a curious mind, a mischievous streak, and the confidence of someone who knows he looks good from every angle. He’s the sort of dog who makes an entrance without really trying. A little goofy, a little regal, and completely himself, Finn brings a lot of personality wherever he goes — mostly through those ears. The Rescue is open 7 days a week for you to come and meet our pets! Walk-ins are welcome! In order to interact with them, you’ll need a simple questionnaire filled out. Please understand that we cannot hold pets for any reason. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
