Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed. Meet Amanda! Amanda is a beautiful 5-year-old Cattle Dog mix weighing approximately 68 pounds who is ready to find her FURever home! She was surrendered after her previous family was no longer able to care for her, and now she is hoping to find a loving family to call her own. Amanda is house trained and crate trained, walks well on a leash, and loves spending quality time with her people. She is a friendly girl who is always excited to meet new faces and be part of the action. Amanda has done well with other dogs in the past. If you currently have another canine in the home, a meet and greet is recommended prior to adoption to help ensure everyone is a good fit. Her adoption fee is $125. Amanda is spayed, microchipped, current on her basic annual boosters, and heartworm negative. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
