Pet info, adoption cost/detail information below: PET DESCRIPTION: Banana is an 8-9 year old male Akita, weighs 86 lbs. He came to us as a stray no one ever came for. That is quite sad as he is such a wonderful boy, very laid back, good with other dogs (though generally will always say safest to stay with an opposite sex dog partner). He loves all of us at the Shelter and we love him too. Sadly this awesome boy is not only older but has tested positive for heartworms. Now we have started his pre-treatment and will treat but would sure love it if his future family could foster him through his heartworm treatment so he doesn't have to sit in our kennels as that is a bummer for him. So holler at us if you love Akita's and might be able to help him by fostering him during his heartworm treatment. DOG ADOPTION FEE is $100. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch (and we register the chip at time of the adoption); certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more.
