A LOVELY-NATURED GIRL: Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 67 lbs. Hi, I'm Abbey! I came to Mostly Mutts when I found myself in need of a new home. I'm enjoying my time with the nice volunteers who spend time with and take great care of me. I got to go for a spend-the-night with one of the nice volunteers and had a good time. Now I hear that I'm ready to find a wonderful family of my very own—where I can love and be loved furever! I hope to meet them very soon! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and though I wasn't quite ready to play, I also didn't show any aggression, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let's meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven't met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let's meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a gorgeous girl with a gentle, calm, and loving personality! I’m very friendly and affectionate, and the volunteers say I’m a beautiful pup and such a wonderful girl. I am a very good listener and was perfect for my bath, nicely putting my paws up to help get into the tub and then hopping right out when I was finished—no heavy lifting needed! During my spend-the-night, I showed off my good house manners and didn’t get on the furniture. I’m a lovely girl with a gentle nature and plenty of affection to share—just a wonderful companion. / Energy level: 3-5, possibly a tad higher. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the 'sit' and 'come', commands and I walk nicely on a leash too. I look forward to learning even more, so let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / I'm doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. / I did well with my potty manners for my spend-the-night and I'm doing well on the shelter schedule too. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love treats—and I take them very gently! I also enjoy going for walks and then relaxing on the bench in front of Mostly Mutts with my walker after my stroll. Cozy dog beds are another favorite, especially when it’s time to kick back and relax. I’m sure we’ll discover lots more things we like doing together in our new home! / I did drool a bit in the car, but I sat still, so I think I just need a little more practice with car rides. I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I was diagnosed with hip dysplasia as a puppy, so I have a bit of decreased range of motion and take shorter steps/stride. I don't let this get me down at all and no treatment is needed at this time other than a good over-the-counter joint supplement called Cosequin. Don't let me get overweight as this would be difficult. I'm a wonderful-natured dog looking for a wonderful family that will love me and take great care of me for life!
