Meet Smoky Bear! Bear is a 3 year old neutered male aussiedoodle. He was surrendered locally. At 53 pounds this sweet boy is obese and has started a diet and exercise program. Sadly Bear's previous owners were older folks who kept him crated far too much and gave way too much food and snacks. Bear is a snuggle bug who wants to cuddle with you while watching tv and keep you warm in bed. If you are looking for a wonderful companion Bear is your boy! Bear does well with other dogs of all sizes and fine with cats. Bear absolutely adores kids. Bear walks well on leash, is housebroken and crate trained. Bears new family will need to continue his diet and exercise. We only adopt in the New England area. Applicants must be at least 21 years old. We do not have blanket criteria regarding adoptions. Each applicant is considered based on many things including but not limited to breed experience, yard ( visible fence preferred) and other animals in home. We try to avoid dogs with same sex households as pyrs typically do not do well with the same sex. A volunteer will be in touch to discuss your application and the dog to determine if it is a good match. Your vet and two references will be called. A virtual home visit done. Once approved a meet and greet at the farm will take place. If all are in agreement an adoption contract will be signed and adoption fee paid. Adoption fees for dogs are $500. for adults over 12 months, $600 for puppies 12 months and younger as well as small breed dogs. Fees for seniors, special needs or harder to place dogs will be determined by our Board of Directors. All dogs will be altered when adoption is finalized. This may involve young puppies be given until a certain age to be altered. All animals are up to date on age appropriate core vaccines, negative for parasites, heart worm and lyme tested if 6 months or older, microchipped and have a current health certificate. Proof of a basic obedience course completed is part of our adoption contract within six months. Our descriptions are based on shelter evaluations, input from foster homes and interactions with our volunteers but are in no way a guarantee of temperment. We show animals by appointment only.
