Simon Says… adopt me! Simon is a sweet, goofy, leggy 50-pound boy who is probably around 3 years old looks a little like someone shrunk a Great Dane to 40% and stirred in some bully breed charm. He came to rescue very underweight and in need of groceries, but he has a fantastic appetite, good energy, and is already starting to look better with consistent care. Simon says: I love food. This boy eats like he has never met a meal he didn’t appreciate. He is food-motivated, which will be helpful for training, routine-building, and helping him continue to gain weight. Simon says: I like people. He is friendly, handleable, and wants to be near his humans. Simon hopes you like getting kisses as much as he likes to give them. Movie night? Count him in. He loves a comfortable spot to relax with his friends. Walks or hikes? He's pretty good on a leash, neutral to dogs in public, and very happy to be out stretching his legs and smelling the smells with you. Simon says: I need structure and may do best with someone who has a sense of humor. This is the important part: Simon is still working on house manners. He is not reliably housetrained yet and has had accidents in his crate. He will need a practical adopter who can manage him with a consistent potty routine, supervision, and limited freedom until he earns more trust. He pees outside when given the opportunity, but needs some guidance on the *only* outside part and may do best right now with someone who works from home, is retired, or has a midday dog walker. Simon says: Dogs are fine. Simon has two dog foster sisters and has been fantastic around them, though he really doesn't show much interest in them. He he hasn't encountered children while in foster but would likely be fine with kids old enough to understand interacting with a dog who takes food with a hard mouth right now. Simon is not a finished product, but he is an incredibly sweet dog with a lot of potential. He's not hard to live with right now with supervision, potty breaks, and keeping food out of reach, and he's so smart and eager to please that he will turn into a wonderful companion with time to settle in and some training.
