Meet Gemma, a beautiful 4 year old spayed female Belgian Malinois searching for a loving foster or forever home. Gemma originally was rescued from euthanasia and brought into rescue from a CA shelter over a year ago and found a family. Unfortunately, due to her current owners no longer being able to care for her, she is finding herself coming back into rescue. Gemma is everything people love about the breed: intelligent, loyal, and deeply devoted to her people, but with a low to medium energy level than many expect from a Malinois. She enjoys being involved in daily life and thrives on companionship, making her a wonderful partner for someone looking for a close bond with their dog. Gemma is crate trained, knows her commands in German, and appreciates structure, consistency, and clear expectations. She is affectionate, well-mannered, and loves spending time with her people. She enjoys having a job to do, learning new things, and being an active part of the family. When it comes to other dogs, Gemma is selective and prefers a calm, structured environment. She would do best as an only dog or with a calm, highly obedient canine companion. She is not a fan of dogs that don’t follow the rules and appreciates a household where expectations are clear and well managed. If you are within 4 hours of the pet, please be prepared to pick the pet up. We do provide transport assistance up to 350 miles. The applicant must drive the remainder of the distance of the transport.
