Portia (GA) - Mutt Female Dog For Adoption in New York, New York, USA

Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed.

Here comes Portia (GA) — a fiveyearold mystery mix (possibly Retrieve and/or Pit Bull Terrier and/or Cane Corse!) whose most important breed is, without question, irresistible. Portia didn’t arrive at the shelter with a cute backstory or a soft landing. She came in with a collar so deeply embedded in her neck that it had to be surgically removed — a wound that tells you everything about her past and absolutely nothing about her spirit. Because somehow, despite the pain, despite the neglect, despite the fact that someone failed her so profoundly… Portia still loves. She loves people. She loves other dogs. She loves gently leaning her 69 pounds of sweetness against you like she’s trying to say, “Thank you for seeing me.” And now that her injury has been repaired, Portia is healing — truly healing — in every way. She’s on the mend, growing stronger, brighter, and more hopeful by the day. Soon she’ll be better than new, but even now, she’s already perfect in all the ways that matter. Look at her: this gorgeous girl with soulful eyes and a heart that refuses to quit. She’s not defined by what was done to her. She’s defined by her softness, her resilience, her quiet gratitude, and her ability to trust again. Portia is ready for a home where she will never be hurt, never be forgotten, never be anything less than cherished. She’s ready for someone who sees her beauty, her bravery, and her boundless capacity for love. If that someone is you, please don’t wait. Apply online to adopt at .rescuedogsrocknyc. Portia’s adoption fee is $450. She’s been through the worst. Now she deserves the very best. Please be sure to reference this pet's name as Portia (GA) in case of duplicate names within the rescue.
