Description

Dog Breed: English Bulldog / Staffordshire Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat).

One look into her big green eyes, and you can't help but fall in love with Frankie. Frankie is about 3-4 months old, and she is the cutest little girl. She has a sweet and sassy personality and has all the qualities that bulldog people love about the breed. She is a people-oriented girl who loves cuddles and is quick to charm everyone with her goofy antics. Frankie weighs about 9lbs and we think she will be around 40lbs when fully grown. Frankie came to us with her sister, Grace, from an overcrowded shelter in Central California. They were part of a litter of six puppies that came in with their mom. Their poor mom was malnourished, and the other four puppies bullied little Frankie and Grace so that they weren't able to nurse as much. The shelter staff separated them from their litter, and they slowly began gaining weight. They are now happy, healthy, and chunky girls! Their mom looks like an English bulldog mix, and the girls appear to also have some sort of other bully breed in their mix. We are looking for individual homes for Frankie and Grace so that they can get the one-on-one training and socialization to become well-rounded dogs. Frankie is the perfect mix of sugar and spice. She loves playtime and socializing, but isn't afraid to set her boundaries and will sometimes act tough when she meets new dogs. It doesn't take long for her to become BFFs, though. She adores people and is quick to make herself comfy in your lap for snuggles. She would love to be your spoiled little baby. Frankie is very food-motivated and has been doing well learning all of her basic manners. She will need a family committed to continuing her training and socialization. She is a moderate-energy girl who loves fun, but also is good at settling when all the fun has been had. Frankie loves playing with other dogs, and we think she would benefit from having another dog in her new home to mentor her. We haven't seen her around cats, but she is young enough that she could do well living with kitties after a slow introduction. Frankie could make a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Frankie has been doing great with her house training using pee pads and a doggie door, but she is still learning and will need a family who can be patient with her and be consistent with her training. She is used to being kept in a pen with her sister when no one is home, so she will need some time to acclimate to being alone. She will happily sleep through the night in her pen with her sister. Frankie is such an amazing little girl, and she is going to bring so much love to her new family. If you think that might be you, submit an application today! Frankie's adoption fee is $400. Apply to adopt here! form.jotform/52017002013129/ Applications are also available on the website (.yolospca) It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
