Molly — also known as Shortstack — is a 4 year old, 34 lb Pocket Bully/French Bulldog mix who is truly one of a kind!
Quick Facts: Name: Molly (Shortstack) Breed: French Bulldog Mix Age: 4 years old Weight: 34 lbs. House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: No (doesn’t like/need a crate) Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Yes, select dog-savvy cats Good with Kids: Yes Energy Level: Low Fence Required: No Dog's Location: Winston-Salem, NC Medical Information: Molly has had surgery to correct her “cherry eye” and recovered well. She will need supplements for her skin allergies/dry eye and may need additional care later as her breed is prone to allergies. Molly was also heartworm positive when she came to the rescue but has since completed her three-injection treatment and is doing wonderfully! She is currently on strict “bedrest” and may not take walks or do any activities that increase her heart rate for 6 weeks post treatment. She can resume normal activities in December 2026 and will need to follow up with a veterinarian in 9 months to 1 year for a heartworm test.
About Molly’s Breed: Our best guess is that Molly is a French Bulldog mix. A French Bulldog mix is typically a compact, affectionate, and delightfully goofy companion who blends the Frenchie’s signature charm with the traits of whatever breed they’re mixed with. They’re known for their expressive faces, snorty commentary, and deeply people oriented nature. Many Frenchie mixes are playful but not overly energetic, preferring short bursts of fun followed by long stretches of lounging.
Their ideal home is one that offers steady companionship, gentle structure, and lots of affection. Because they can be sensitive and sometimes stubborn, they do best with families who enjoy engaging a smart, silly dog and can provide consistent positive training. A home that appreciates their moderate exercise needs — usually short walks and indoor play — is perfect. They’re happiest with people who love snuggling, don’t mind a bit of snoring, and can support their health needs, especially regarding breathing, skin, or allergies.
What to Love about Molly: Can we say “everything”?! Molly’s the ultimate lovebug, house hippo, and best friend rolled into one irresistible, tongue out, underbite forward package! Molly is a lovable goofball who wants nothing more than your attention, your affection, and a cozy spot to nap. She is famously stubborn about getting out of bed and will happily sleep the day away if you let her, fully committed to her couch potato lifestyle. In the evenings she perks up, enjoying short neighborhood walks — though she may need a little encouragement to get moving before she remembers she actually likes them. Once she’s out and about, she stays close, listens well, and enjoys the fresh air!
Molly has a few strong opinions: she does not like loud trucks, especially those pulling trailers or big rigs like garbage trucks, and she’ll let you know they’re simply too much for her. But she absolutely loves being pet, dozing off next to you, and working on chew treats. She’s a dominant leaning girl in play, but not aggressive — she may gently mouth hands, yet she’s respectful with other dogs and lights up when she’s around playful canine friends. She’s been fine with some cats, though she may try to play, so cat savvy pets are best. Molly is extremely people oriented and often chooses her humans over furry friends. She especially adores men and is wonderful with kids and anyone willing to shower her with love.
She’s potty trained with the occasional #2 accident, doesn’t use a crate, and can be gated in a room while you’re out — she’ll almost certainly nap the whole time. Keep trash lids closed, though, because she does enjoy a little “treasure hunting.” Molly came to rescue with some health challenges, but she’s bouncing back beautifully. She has mild skin allergies and dry eye, both well managed with supplements, and she recently completed treatment for heartworm. She’s now in her 6 week rest period until December 2026 — a task she excels at as a consummate couch potato!
Molly/Shortstack is ready to bring endless affection, laughter, and snuggly companionship to her forever home. She’s a once in a lifetime dog who will make her new family fall head over heels!
