Meet Sally ❤️ — Big Drive, Big Personality, Big Potential Don’t let Sally’s smaller size fool you—this girl is boldness, personality, and working-dog energy all wrapped into one package. Sally is a seven-month-old Doberman mix who is smart, social, curious, and eager to learn. She has been diving into her training and is picking up her basic commands quickly while building a strong recall. She loves having a job and enjoys learning what her people ask of her. And when Sally has had enough excitement for one day? She knows exactly what to do. She heads to her crate, settles in, and calls it a night. ❤️ Sally is still very much a puppy, though, and that means zero impulse control right now. Her emotions can get BIG, especially when she becomes excited or spots something that triggers her prey drive. With the breeds in her mix, Sally has an insatiable prey drive, and once that instinct takes over, she has a very difficult time turning it off. Small critters can be especially difficult for her. We have seen situations where running small dogs or cats have triggered her instinct to chase. Because of this, Sally is not a candidate for a home with cats or small dogs. Her prey drive needs to be taken seriously and managed responsibly. Sally will benefit tremendously from an adopter who has experience with working-breed dogs and understands that training doesn’t stop when the basic commands are learned. She needs someone who will continue building her impulse control, emotional regulation, focus, and confidence as she matures. She does well with large dogs who are calm, steady, and easygoing. A chaotic or overly excitable canine companion would not be the right match for her. And because Sally is a young, athletic, high-drive dog, a secure five-foot physical fence is required. Sally isn't looking for just any home. She needs someone who understands her drive, respects her limitations, and is willing to put in the work to help her become the incredible adult dog we know she can be. For the right person, Sally has so much to offer. She’s smart. She’s funny. She’s affectionate. She’s eager to learn. And underneath all that puppy energy is a young dog with enormous potential.
