LUNA , a super sweet, pretty and calm 6-year old hound/pit bull mix, a gentle girl was a special project of our rescue. We worked hard over three months to help the elderly man and his family find a new place for Luna. We had no luck. A surprise to THE RESCUE that the family GAVE up and now she is in DeKalb County AS OF SEPTEMPER 28 AND NOT DOING WELL. AT RISK OF euthanasia, , if a home cannot be found! She has become stressed, EVEN THROUGH SO SWEET WHEN WE SAW HER. We MEET her yesterday (Oct. 18) and she was as sweet and gentle as ever. But VERY WEARY and wants out. Needs a DeKalb Foster or Forever Home. Sweet dog, always a family dog, They had her since a small puppy!!! HOW do you give a dog up after that. Owner said NO TIME, no fenced yard, IS FRAIL, and another grand baby coming! (The man WHO cared for is elderly and has a hard time walking her. SO the family gave up). She is gentle, sweet, gentle, always a pensive look on her sweet face, bonds quickly, takes treats gently, and not a dog to jump on you. She lived with older dog. Likes to Ride int the car and BONED to her sweet older owner who has to give her up. The elderly owner in his eighties owner (grandfather with family in home) had been looking for months, contacting all rescues and shelters, for a new home for Luna because there is not room, and saddened but finally took her DeKalb AS, where Luna will eventually be euthanized. POSITIVE: She is a great with small kids. She is housetrained, walks well on a leash, listens, looks lovingly in your eyes, (Rescue saw that in person). She is Not large, the perfect size at 50 lbs., so easy to KEEP!
