*ACORN - Chihuahua-Unknown Mix Female Dog For Adoption in Woodland, California, USA

Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Mixed (medium coat).

Just like a tiny acorn can grow into a mighty oak, this little 12-pound Chihuahua has so much potential to blossom with a little love and patience! Acorn is a 2-year-old spayed female who is still finding her confidence and coming out of her shell. She can be a little standoffish at first, but give her some time (and a few yummy treats!), and she'll slowly begin to warm up. She might even surprise you by perching herself on your knee! She's not a huge cuddler just yet, but I suspect she's still experiencing a bit of shelter shock and figuring out her new surroundings. What she does seem to enjoy is simply being close to her person. She stayed right beside a volunteer for most of their time together, happily keeping her company. Acorn isn't the biggest fan of having a leash put on, but once it's on, she tolerates it just fine. She just needs someone willing to take things slowly and gently. One thing she definitely loves is soaking up the sunshine! She thoroughly enjoyed spending time outside, basking in the beautiful weather like a tiny sun-loving squirrel. Overall, Acorn was such an easy little companion. She doesn't ask for much, just a little patience, some tasty treats, a sunny spot, and someone who will let her blossom at her own pace. After all, even the mightiest oak starts as a tiny acorn. Make an appointment to meet this sweet little pup at yoloshelter/dogs, or email adoptyoloshelter. Help her grow into the confident, happy dog she's meant to be!
