Chief - Mutt Male Dog For Adoption in Canton, Connecticut, USA

Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed.

Meet Chief a big guy at 62 pounds who is so sweet and happy go lucky! He is a mix who has a short tan and white coat and a distinctive black muzzle with black makeup around his eyes. Short floppy ears. His is a young boy of just about a year old. For sure he is one handsome dude. He will be a friendly, affectionate, playful, and energetic young guy. Chief is ready to become part of your family and live a comfortable and happy life. His back story gives pause and yet shows how resilient he is. He was found as a stray, having been dumped in a rural area. He managed to find his way to a home where he befriended a dog that lived at the home. He stayed until a South Carolina rescue stepped in to help him find a family. He deserves a second chance. While in rescue, Chief has been working on his house, leash and crate training. He will need his forever family to help him along the path to success. Daily walks will support leash skills as well as socialization skills. (It will also be an opportunity to find out what commands he knows). It will be a new world to him with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along his walk. At home he will benefit from mental stimulation in the form of activities and play toys. That will keep him from being bored. A secure back yard would give him free time to play and burn off energy! He probably would enjoy hiking, running, and maybe even swimming! Chief is ready to bring his A game and be a great canine companion to the family of his dreams. * When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine.
